What is the litter pick challenge?

WHAT IS THE LITTER PICK CHALLENGE?

bushes background.png
From 16th September to 29th November 2024, we’re hosting our annual national competition to see which institution can collect the most litter on campus and in their community. The competition has four categories: University, College, Secondary School, and Primary School. Winners in each category will receive a free Hedgehog House and a bag of hedgehog food for their campus, courtesy of the British Hedgehog Preservation Society.

Every participant, regardless of their team’s final position, will receive a digital certificate. By joining this challenge, volunteers will help protect hedgehogs and other wildlife from becoming trapped or injured by litter, which can lead to suffocation or severe harm. Unfortunately, many hedgehogs die each year due to litter-related incidents.

Scroll down to find out how to get involved in our 2024 Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick Challenge. Plus, participating will help your institution on its journey to becoming a Hedgehog Friendly Campus or School!
